Lisa Lawson, LUT

Lisa Lawson, LUT, finished her Licensed Unity Teacher training and licensing in 2022. A dynamic speaker and warm-hearted teacher, she is also currently part of the 2024-26 UWSI Ministerial Path Cohort, training to be an ordained Unity Minister. Lisa's passion is to encourage spiritual growth and personal expression in all people, and to foster community within the region. As Licensed Unity Teacher Representative on the Unity West Central Region Board, she is happy to help students and credentialed Unity leaders navigate the ins and outs of Unity's current education offerings and CEU's.

Lisa has been a Unity Truth student since she discovered Unity in 1992. Raised in a traditional Christian church with lots of love, in young adulthood she was challenged by childhood teachings that did not ring true to her, especially concerning the acceptance of Global spiritual teachings. She found that Unity gave her practical tools to further develop her spirituality and to apply Truth principles in her life. Exploring the Bible using metaphysical tools synthesized her understanding of these ancient teachings with the knowledge she has gained from equally enlightening teachings from traditions throughout the world.

Lisa became a Board Trustee at Unity Spiritual Community in Citrus Heights in 2013, and served as Minister of Music since 2014, working closely with her mentor Rev. Carla Comiter. She also became a Prayer Chaplain Trainer with Light and Love Ministries in that year, and began classes in Unity's Spiritual Development Program. She feels privileged to have studied with many Unity ministers and teachers in this way, taking SEE classes with students from all over the world. Lisa finished her Licensed Unity Teacher training and practicum in 2022, then in 2023 served as Spiritual Leader at Unity Spiritual Community under the mentorship of her Senior Minister Rev. Carla Comiter through Carla's medical leave for cancer and through her transition in April 2025. Lisa recently joined the staff at Spiritual Life Center, Sacramento, as Director of Youth and Ministries.

Lisa has taught classes she developed for Unity based on books including In the Flow of Life by Eric Butterworth, Living Originally by Robert Brumet, Life Loves You by Louise Hay and Robert Holden, The 5 Principles by Ellen Debenport, Discover Your Divinity by DeeAnn Morency and Linda Martella Whitsett, Mystical Prosperity based on Even Mystics Have Bills to Pay by Jim Rosemergy, Finding Your Way Through Life's Transitions, based on the books of Robert Brumet, William Bridges, and Julia Cameron, and a class of her own design called Exquisite Self-Care.  After decades of teaching and leading in the music field, Lisa is excited to use her skills to facilitate and teach Unity principles.

From Lisa: “I explore the writing of the Unity masters, as well as being open to cutting edge science and ideas beyond the physical realm. I enjoy exploring and teaching from many spiritual traditions, and find God everywhere. My background in evangelical Christianity means that I will use Bible stories and ideas, interpreted metaphysically, as for many of us from this tradition, our spiritual journey involves going through these ideas to discover our embedded beliefs rather than rejecting them outright. I enjoy using many different modalities to explore our spiritual path: talks, classes, music, visuals, games, and spiritual dancing to name a few. For me, Unity is still fresh! If I can help provide a loving, accepting place for you to open up and grow I am happy.”

My job is to serve the Christ light in each of you. Namaste
